A regular taxi takes you from one address to another and the meter stops when you arrive. A chauffeur booking works the other way round. How Chauffeur Pricing Works
Every chauffeur booking is quoted before the day, per vehicle rather than per person, so everyone in the car shares one price. We build it the same way as our Yarra Valley winery tours: the driving between your stops, charged at the Victorian regulated taxi rate, plus the time your driver waits with you. Tolls on your route are included in the quote, so nothing is added at the end.
We do not publish an hourly rate or a from price, because the cost depends on how you plan the day:
- Where you start and where you finish
- How many stops you make and how far apart they are
- How long you stay at each one
- The vehicle your group needs, from a sedan up to the Maxi Van for 11 passengers

Two Cellar Doors on the Maroondah and Melba Highways
Pickup in Healesville, then 10 minutes to Domaine Chandon on the Maroondah Highway at Coldstream, about 10 minutes on to Yering Station on the Melba Highway, and 15 minutes home. Most of the time goes on tasting, not driving.
Melbourne to the Yarra Valley and Back
About an hour from the Melbourne CBD to the first cellar door. A typical day takes in TarraWarra Estate, lunch at Oakridge Wines on the Maroondah Highway and De Bortoli at Dixons Creek, about 20 minutes further on, before the drive back to the city.
Ceremony to Reception at Rochford Wines
Bridal party pickups from your accommodation, the ceremony, then the reception at Rochford Wines on the Maroondah Highway at Coldstream, about 15 minutes from Lilydale. A late night return can be booked at the same time.
Dinner or a Show in Melbourne
About 50 minutes from Lilydale to the city, or a little over an hour from Healesville. Your driver drops you at the restaurant or theatre and brings you home afterwards, so nobody has to drive or find parking.
Group and Minibus Style Chauffeur Hire
For groups, the Maxi Van seats up to 11 passengers, so a hens day, a birthday or a work group can travel together with one driver instead of hiring a minibus or splitting across several cars. The SUV / Wagon takes up to 7. For more than 11 people we arrange more than one vehicle and plan the timings so the cars travel together. Maxi Van availability is limited, so book it early.
Choosing the Right Vehicle
Most chauffeur bookings use our Premium / Silver Taxi, a late model executive vehicle with a professionally presented driver. It is the usual choice for weddings, functions and corporate days. A standard sedan suits a relaxed day for up to four, and the SUV and Maxi Van carry bigger groups. Child seats can be fitted on request, so mention them with your plans and we include them in the quote.
