City Tours

Yarra Valley Taxis provides private sightseeing tours of the Yarra Valley and day trips into Melbourne, with one driver for the whole trip and no fixed group schedule to follow. Whether you want to visit Healesville Sanctuary, explore the Dandenong Ranges, taste your way through the cellar doors, or combine regional sightseeing with a Melbourne visit, the itinerary is built around what you want to see.

What Does a Private Yarra Valley Sightseeing Tour Include?

A private tour can be as structured or as open as you prefer. Most visitors combine two or three stops in a half day, or four to six stops across a full day, with the driver waiting at each location while you explore. There is no minimum group size and no shared vehicle with strangers.

Popular stops and routes include:

• Healesville Sanctuary, for a morning or afternoon with Australian wildlife
• Cellar door tastings at Domaine Chandon, Yering Station, TarraWarra Estate or De Bortoli
• Township visits to Healesville, Yarra Glen and Lilydale for lunch or coffee
• Dandenong Ranges lookouts and rainforest walks at Sherbrooke Forest or Mount Dandenong
• Rochford Wines for lunch, a concert or a ticketed event
• Waterfalls and scenic drives through Warburton and the upper Yarra Valley

Can I Visit Healesville Sanctuary and Wineries on the Same Day?

Yes. Combining Healesville Sanctuary with a winery visit is one of the most popular full day itineraries in the region. A typical run would be a morning at the Sanctuary, followed by lunch at a winery restaurant such as Oakridge Wines or TarraWarra Estate, then one or two cellar door tastings in the afternoon before returning to your accommodation or to Melbourne.

Your driver knows the region and can suggest timings that allow enough time at each stop without the day feeling rushed. The route adjusts on the day if you want to stay longer somewhere or add an unplanned stop.

Is a Melbourne Day Trip Available from the Yarra Valley?

Yes. A day trip combining Yarra Valley sightseeing with time in Melbourne is available as a full day booking. A common itinerary is a morning in the Valley followed by an afternoon in Melbourne for shopping, sightseeing or a restaurant, with a return to your Yarra Valley accommodation in the evening.

Melbourne is around 60 to 90 minutes from most parts of the Valley depending on your starting point, so a full day comfortably covers both. Call 0404 506 728 or email yarravalleytaxi@gmail.com with a rough idea of the stops you want and we will confirm availability and a quote.

How Is a Private Tour Different from a Shared Bus Tour?

A private tour with Yarra Valley Taxis uses your own vehicle and driver for the whole trip. You set the pace, choose the stops, and spend as long or as short a time at each location as you want. There is no waiting for other passengers, no fixed departure times from cellar doors, and no set commentary if you would rather explore at your own pace.

For groups of up to 11, a Maxi Van is available so the whole group travels together in one vehicle. Smaller groups travel in a sedan or SUV.
